What is The Kindred Circle?

Estés writes in Women Who Run With the Wolves that we are all filled with a longing for the wild — and that there are few culturally sanctioned spaces where that longing is welcomed, honored, and met. The Kindred Circle is being built as exactly that space.

Healing does not happen in isolation. The nervous system needs witnesses. It needs to see itself reflected in women who have walked similar terrain and found their way back — not perfectly, not linearly, but truly.

The Kindred Circle is the community arm of The Sacred Becoming — a curated, intentional space for women in different stages of their return to gather, witness one another, and remember that this work does not have to be done alone. You were not meant to do this alone. The Kindred Circle is where the wild women find each other.

What it will hold

The Shape of the Circle

The Kindred Circle is currently forming. What it holds may include:

  • Monthly online circles — held with intention, facilitated by Ashley, a space for witnessing and being witnessed.
  • In-person Chicago gatherings — seasonal, small, intimate. For women local to Chicago who want to gather in person.
  • A membership space — resources, somatic practices, recorded teachings, and access to the community between live gatherings.
  • Seasonal events — tied to the rhythms of the year, the themes of the wild feminine, and the arc of the retreats.
  • Membership to the Kindred Circle is by invitation or application. This is not a large online community. It is a held, curated circle.
