About Ashley Hartman, LCSW PMHC RYT-200
She knows what it is to feel stuck.
And she knows you were not meant to stay there.
The Story
I tried to be good. It didn’t keep me safe – the way they told me that it would.
— after Florence + the Machine
Ashley was thirteen years old when her mother kicked her out for protesting her alcoholism. No one named what happened. No one explained that her grief made sense. Instead she was taken to doctors, handed a diagnosis — bipolar disorder — and handed a role: the sick one, the broken one, the one who had to earn her place.
She wore that role for decades. Into her education, her career, two marriages, early motherhood. She overperformed, overfunctioned, intellectualized everything. She became a therapist. She did the EMDR and the IFS and the somatic work — as both clinician and patient — and still felt the hollow underneath it all.
I was never mentally ill. I was betrayed. Over and over, by
everyone who was supposed to love me. And somewhere beneath the betrayal — I always knew.
It wasn’t until a bitter divorce, a custody battle alone during COVID, four moves in four years —and finally, psychedelic therapy, yoga, embodiment, and a therapist named Lynn who said not bipolar, complex PTSD — that the long journey of remembering began.
Not remembering what happened. Remembering who she was before it did.
Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ Women Who Run With the Wolves named what Ashley had always felt but never had language for — the wild woman, the original knowing, the self who was never broken, only exiled. The moment she found that language, everything changed.
The work was never about becoming someone new. It was
always about returning to the original knowing — the one that was there before the wounding began.
Ashley is here to help you remember – YOU are the one you’ve been waiting for.
The Clinician
Ashley Hartman is a somatic and attachment trauma therapist with fifteen years of clinical experience. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a perinatal mental health clinician, a RYT-200 yoga instructor, a complex PTSD survivor, and a woman who has died a thousand times to become this version of herself.
She is trained in perinatal and attachment focused EMDR, Internal Family Systems, parts work, somatic healing, and early developmental trauma — the wounds that form before we have words for them. She specializes in perinatal and postpartum care, complex PTSD & disassociation, the mother wound, and psychedelic-assisted therapy.
She did not collect these trainings to build a resume. She collected them because she was determined to understand — from the inside — why we stay stuck, and what it actually takes to get free.

Who She Walks With
The souls who find Ashley are accomplished, self-aware, and quietly exhausted from a life that looks right from the outside and feels hollow from the inside.
They have done the work. And still something essential remains just out of reach.
They are not broken. They are not too much. They are not too late.
She is not here to hand you answers.
She is here to hold the space while you find your own.
